How to Write an Oil & Gas Job Description

Writing a job description can be a major drag. It is defiantly the least ‘fun’ part of hiring someone. Suddenly you have nothing but questions – what does the person I need do? Do they really need ten years of experience like Bob, who is moving to Tucson be closer to his grandma? Will they actually be writing that report, or is that getting parceled out to Claudia? Wow, I already have a headache. I can’t answer those questions for you, but I can help when it comes down to writing it all down. A lot of people skimp when it comes to the job description they’re posting, and that can be a critical mistake, making the perfect-hire-hunt even longer. A too brief description leaves you open to every resume in the tristate area and the chance that your perfect hire got lost in the shuffle. Or even worse, not applying at all because they read the description and decided they didn’t want it!
